Use + Care

Quick tips to keep your items looking beautiful.

Care instructions are general guidelines; always follow the garment/drinkware manufacturer label when present.

Unfinished Wood Items

Everyday care

  • Keep dry; avoid soaking or damp storage.

  • Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.

  • Avoid harsh cleaners and abrasive scrubbers.

Handling

  • Thin wood can crack if bent or dropped—handle gently.

  • Best on a flat, dry surface.

Natural variation

  • Wood grain and color vary naturally (basswood vs walnut, etc.).

  • Light scorch marks from laser cutting may be present and are normal.

Optional: customize or seal

  • You can paint, stain, or seal your piece.

  • Test first on a small area.

  • If sealing: use a light clear coat and allow full dry time before use.

Everyday care

  • Turn garment inside out before washing.

  • Wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle.

  • Use mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners.

  • Tumble dry low or hang dry for longest life.

Heat + ironing

  • Do not iron directly on the design.

  • If you need to iron, place a thin cloth over the area or iron from the inside.

Good to know

  • Avoid high heat (hot dryers, high iron heat), which can reduce longevity of decorated areas.

  • Spot clean when possible.

  • If machine washing is needed: wash cold, gentle cycle.

  • Air dry or tumble dry low.

  • Avoid ironing directly on decorated areas; use a pressing cloth or iron from the back side.

(These are printed with heat transfer into the coating.)

  • Hand wash recommended to preserve vibrancy.

  • Avoid abrasive sponges; use a soft sponge/cloth.

  • Do not soak for long periods.

  • Avoid extreme temperature shock (very hot to very cold quickly).

  • Microwave/dishwasher use depends on the specific blank—when in doubt, hand wash.

(Engraving removes the outer finish; it won’t peel like vinyl.)

  • Hand wash recommended; top-rack dishwasher may be okay depending on the blank.

  • Avoid abrasive scrubbers on the engraved area to keep edges looking crisp.

  • Don’t soak for extended periods.

  • Treat like any coated drinkware: avoid harsh chemicals/cleaners.

Scented

  • If you chose a scented freshener, the scent will dissipate over time (this is normal).

  • To refresh, you can lightly add your own fragrance if desired.

Unscented

  • If you chose an unscented freshener, you can scent it yourself using:

    • essential oils or fragrance oils

    • perfume, body spray, or cologne

  • Add a small amount and let it dry before hanging.

Care

  • Avoid direct contact with delicate surfaces (dash plastics/leather) if oils are applied.

  • Keep away from high heat/extended direct sunlight when possible.
